Position Title

Postdoctoral/Research Associate in Forestry and Growth modeling

Location:

Facultad de Agronomía e Ingeniería Forestal,

Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago, Chile

Duration:

Initial appointment will be for one year, with the expectation of renewal pending on satisfactory performance.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Starting date:

Aug 20, 2015

Candidate: We are looking for highly motivated and talented forest scientist, biologist, engineer or any related area, interested in forestry and wood, growth modelling and ecophysiology of trees. A strong background in mathematics/statistics and mathematical modelling is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to write peer reviewed journal articles, present at meetings, participate in proposal writing and carry on field work activities.

 

Qualifications: A doctoral degree in engineering or sciences or closely related field.

 

Position Description: A full-time fixed-time postdoctoral position available for a 1 year, with the possibility of further appointment, subject to satisfactory performance. The research fellow will be a key member of a team conducting research in one of the following key priority areas: Functional-structural plant modeling, general growth modeling, silviculture, effect of climate change on plants adaptations, sustainable wood production.
